Better…

May 19th, 2014

I made much better choices yesterday than the 2 days before. Except for the super yummy gluten free peanut butter and jelly chocolate bar thing, I wasn’t too bad! I was under my calorie goal.

I’m currently on the lookout for a new bicycle saddle and a phone mount. I took a ride around the lake again today and I made much better time, but a new saddle would really help.

Just a quick edit to say that I did p90x3 today. It was hard, but not like p90x is hard. I love the 30 minute format. I plan to do the 90 day challenge!

No way!

May 17th, 2014

Despite the last couple of crazy days, I lost 2 pounds! I cannot believe it. Yesterday was even more of a challenge than the day before because I spent most of it in a car and I only ate 1/2 of a breakfast bar and a whole plate of what can mostly be described as gravy (it was the worst arroz con pollo I’ve ever had!).

Today will be another long day. We shall see what it brings food-wise.

nothing new…

May 16th, 2014

I don’t really have anything new to add. I am totally off-plan as far as food intake goes because I am out of town lunch and dinner the next few days. Yesterday, while I was able to keep it relatively good calorie-wise (1500 give or take), my choices were not stellar and I got no exercise out side of walking to and from my car.

I know someone totally sold on the omninutrition drops. I’ve looked into this a little bit after seeing her results and I am wondering what the deal is. I read one person’s account of her journey and it looks like you are only supposed to consume 500 calories a day for the first month or so. This is scary and unhealthy, in my humble opinion, and I suspect is the real reason why people see results so quickly. I’m guessing it’s just another diet scam. I’ve never seen the products, but according to several reviews on Spark People, it’s basically water. From what I did read about the products, it’s vitamins in liquid form and boat-loads of caffeine.

Anyway, what are your thoughts? I recently gave in to the garcinia cambogia hype and regret the waste of money. I think this omni thing is the same sort of deal. (Not to be confused with the omni-diet which I gather is like caveman eating – only fresh from the earth meats and vegetables)

I wish there really was a magic pill for weight loss, but after all these years, it has finally sunk in that nothing beats good old fashioned exercise and nutrition.

Technology Fail

May 14th, 2014

I thought I was all fancy this morning heading to the pool with my lap counter and my water proof ipod case, but it was kind of a disaster.

First off, I couldn’t figure out the lap counter.  Then, my ipod kept falling out of my swimsuit and by continuously shoving it back in I managed to get the ear buds all tangled in my suit – Not that I could really hear it anyway.

Oh well. I did manage to get some swimming done, and even though I had the lap counter set with the incorrect pool size, I got some good information. I could tell you, but that would involve a lot of math and I am just not up to that. It did say I swam about 17 spm and I had about 30 minutes of actual swim time.

No swimming for me

May 14th, 2014

I didn’t make it swimming yesterday so sadly didn’t get to try my new lap counter. Today I made it to the gym and I made it through couch to 5k week two day 1.

What I did do was use my super handy lunch crock! It is great for cooking the NS cup foods. I highly recommend it!

The other trick is to use chicken broth instead of water.
