Tri training

August 3rd, 2015

Ok, so I tried couch-to-5k. I tried BMO. I half-heartedly tried 21 Day Fix (starting over today)  . What I haven’t tried is a serious personal training regimen. I start on Thursday. 

This is going to be a year long journey.  It’s going to be expensive.  

I love to bike and swim so this will help hone what little skills I have in those sports. What I hope it will do is instill some love or at least resignation to be a runner also. 

I am so sick with myself for all the damage I did in June to all of the little progress I had made from January to May. 

My stats are dismal.  

 Let’s see what serious commitment will/can do. 


It’s July

July 5th, 2015

wow! I can’t believe I haven’t posted since April. This is just further proof of how far off the healthy wagon I’ve fallen. Instead of super shapely summer I’ve been having super slovenly summer. Well, that has to change. I got roped into buying the 21 Day fix and as soon as it gets here, I vow to be better. 

Wish me luck. I think I’ve gained 10 pounds, but I’m afraid to check. 


Day 5

April 17th, 2015

I made to the 1/2 way point! I hope I can make it another 5 days… Tomorrow is our local street fair and I look forward to a gyro and an elephant ear every year.  I’ve been convincing myself that I can have half a gyro and a bite of an elephant ear.  Now I’m feeling guilty about that so we will see.

I feel pretty good.  But, I’ve been really tired and very cold.  I’ve lost 5.4 pounds so far.


Day 4

April 15th, 2015

Today is day 4. I managed to go to happy hour yesterday and drink water. I was so cold though, that I had to leave. I think it is 1) my natural tendency to be cold; 2) the fact the door was open; and 3) the copious amounts of water I have been consuming. I’m still not sleeping very well either, but last night was better than the nights before. I don’t have any workouts that I can’t miss today, so I am taking the day off.

The good news is I am down 5 pounds. I am still not convinced that I will be able to maintain weight loss level choices after the cleanse, i.e. little to no alcohol, little to no carbs, healthy portions; but that may just be the mid-point blues talking.
