Day 2

January 8th, 2008

Yesterday was pretty tough. I had an acai super antioxidant smoothie for lunch at the Jamba Juice, which isn’t exactly on the detox plan. I did manage to make a somewhat edible soup for dinner. I did not eat the yummy looking chips and dip, even though I really really wanted to, nor did I finish off the macaroni and cheese (which is my favorite thing) that the kids did not eat.

Today I am beat. Despite my best snooze alarm efforts, I managed to get to the gym by 5:45 am. I am now sipping my berry drink and tea and praying for this day to end soon so I can go back to bed…

Day 1

January 7th, 2008

Okay. It’s the morning of Day 1 of the 21 day detox. I got up at 5 am and went to the gym, which felt pretty good. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and the core workout from my new personal training book: Lean, Long & Strong: The 6-Week Strength-Training, Fat-Burning Program for Women. Honestly, I feel a bit nauseous right now, but I am hopeful that this will pass.

Broccoli & Onion

Green beans
Celery

Add to distilled water and simmer

Puree and add 1 teaspoon of Vegesplash to each 1 cup of the hot soup. Add Bragg’s to taste

All right, so I did not start again on the 3rd (well, I did, but it only lasted 2 days). This time I hope to be serious. Anyone have any good soup and/or juice recipes?
