Happy New Year!

January 3rd, 2009

I can’t believe another year has gone by. I remember feeling like 2008 would never end, yet here we are. I have decided to start another diet detox. I went a little crazy as 2008 wore on and it shows. I want to use that gym membership more and eat out less in 2009. My daughter and I are going to Europe in summer 2010, so I want to be back to my healthy weight by then.

So…I am officially proclaiming that my goal is to lose 40 to 50 pounds by my birthday and keep it off. At 2 pounds per week, that’s 45 weeks. Totally do-able by December.

EDIT: It’s official, I am back to 177 which is about what I weighed last year this time when I began the MVDD. Ugh.

sweets and boot camps

December 20th, 2008

Now that the last birthday of the season is over, I shouldn’t have cake until after the new year…but there are two yummy Costco Pumpkin Pies out there just waiting to be eaten. If you haven’t had a Costco pumpkin pie, then you don’t know what you’re missing!! For Thanksgiving, I waited in line, yes in line, for almost an hour because they had run out and my husband would have cried if he did not get his Costco pie. It’s like a little slice of heaven.

I asked for a personal trainer package for Christmas and I sure hope I get it. When I drove by the gym today, I saw that a new “boot camp” is starting up and I think I will join it this time. I desperately need something to keep me on track.

blistery days

December 19th, 2008

It was another snow day today. I finished off the box of Frangos and the package of mint Oreos and, since it’s my baby’s birthday, I had a piece of ice cream cake. Ugh.

I get so mad at myself and then I do it anyway. Why is this?

Wednesday was my 18 month anniversary of quiting smoking. Isn’t that exciting? For some reason I have really really been wanting to smoke and I don’t know why. It may be my birthday or it may be the holidays? I have not even considering having “one” but it sure has been hard.

I have been quit for 1 Year, 6 Months, 2 Days, 13 hours, 53 minutes and 46 seconds (551 days). I have saved $2,840.62 by not smoking 11,031 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Month, 1 Week, 1 Day, 7 hours and 15 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 6/17/2007 8:00 AM

snowed in

December 19th, 2008

we’ve been snowed in for two days which means I’ve eaten a box of chocolates and a bag of potato chips. I plan to start the 21 days again in January as I did last year. I felt so great when it was done and I think I really need that.

time flies (again)

November 16th, 2008

I honestly do not know where the time goes. I guess I have been so bad at my dieting that I have been ashamed to post. I have not done well on my food intake.
