It’s only 21 days…
February 6th, 2009I decided to do the 21 day detox again beginning on Sunday. My girlfriend and I are going to do it together so I think that will help keep me motivated.

I was informed today that I have two bloodwork issues that are indicative of poor diet and being overweight. The first is an elevated blood level of uric acid in the other is high blood sugar. Yikes! This is not good.
I’ve made it to the gym two days in a row. This is a big accomplishment for me as I haven’t been since before Thanksgiving.
I feel really good, but I didn’t necessarily make good food choices.
I have created a workout plan as follows:
Monday: couch25K and step-aerobics
Tuesday: swim aerobics
Wednesday: couch25K in the morning and possibly yoga at night
Thursday: weight lifting and dance groove
Friday: couch25k and Pilates
As you may recall, I tried NS last year but ended up with a three month surplus due to forgetting to delay a few auto-shipments. These last few months I have been trying to eat it so that 1) it doesn’t go to waste and 2) to regain the pantry space, but the real point is, the food isn’t bad. I have to wonder if it’s simply a frame of mind? I only have lunches and dinners because I was able to finish the snacks and breakfasts, but I may just may give it another try. I know NS works …. Maybe I just wasn’t ready before?
so, I realized this week that the amount of weight I’d like to lose equals the current weight of my last child (he is 8 years old). That is just sad. I mean, seriously.
I haven’t necessarily been dieting this year, but I have manged to drop a few pounds. I plan to detox again in February and the eat sensibly after that. I am making a concerted effort to not eat out as much this year and I think that will help immensely.
