$167,000

June 12th, 2014

Man this has been a busy week! I heard something interesting on the radio this morning that I wanted to share. Apparently, studies show that, at any given moment, 1/3 of women will be on a diet and that, on average, they spend $167.000.00 over their life time on dieting and weight loss.

Seems a bit low?

doomed and defeated

June 9th, 2014

I feel doomed to this weight forever. Today shows a 5 pound weight gain! I know yesterday was a bit ridiculous, but it was not bad enough that I should ave gained 5 pounds!

I’ve researched this: 1 pound equals about 3,500 calories. So, to gain 5 pounds you have to eat like 17,500 calories! Obviously, there’s a lot more that goes into daily weight, like water weight, body functions (urination, bowel movements, sweat, etc.).

It’s hard to stay committed when you aren’t getting results and it’s hard to get results when you’re sick. I wanted to go to the gym tomorrow, but 1) I still feel like complete crap, and 2) my gym bag is still locked in my car which is still in the shop.

Why can’t I be one of those naturally skinny people?

Ugh

June 8th, 2014

I’m feeling blue this week. I’m going on my fifth day of being sick and after a 1 pound weight gain this morning I sort of said f’ it and went on a total junk food binge. Anyway, now I feel sick and gross.

I haven’t exercised since last Sunday and it will be tough to fit it in this week with my work schedule.

It’s all bad.

vegetables

June 6th, 2014

I like vegetables, I really do, but it is so hard to get all the recommended servings in each day. There are really only so many ways to do it, and they get old. Nutrisystem wants you to get 4 servings of vegetable a day and considers most fruits a carb. I’ve recently read that the new recommendation is to get 9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day! This is approximately 2 cups fruit and 2.5 cups vegetables.

There are options, but is it the same and good old fashioned fresh vegetables? What do you do to get them in?

I’m sick…

June 4th, 2014

There’s nothing worse than being sick. I tried to tell myself it was just allergies, but it’s not and I feel like crap. I can barely get up let alone workout.

Apparently the new blog craze is “Wordless Wednesday” which I was going to do, but I don’t have a good photo to post, so I guess it will have to wait. I could post a snapshot of my measurement graph, which is exciting as noted below, but since I have already put all these words on here, what’s the point? Next week maybe?

As mentioned above, I did do measurements and I am happy to report a 6.5″ loss over all. Sweet! I think all this working out and stuff is paying off.

I am really struggling with getting in the grocery items that go with the NS food. I have got to figure out a way to get the carbs, proteins and veggies in my diet. It’s just so hard…
